Here are some fairly recent photos of the Daltec World Headquarters and Grounds, strategically located in Springfield. (Now that really narrows it down, eh?) Seriously, though - we really do live in one of the many Springfields around the country. Ours happens to be in Virginia, and is just outside of Washington, D.C.

Our house is a modest split-level that was built in 1959. One of the things that I just don't understand is the one-car garage. All of the 50s houses around here have these rinky-dink little one-car garages. I thought the cars back then were BIG! With great big 454 V8s! And tail fins! There is no WAY one of those tuna boats would fit into this teeny little garage, and that is for sure. Heck I can barely fit my workbench into it.

As for the yard, well, we sure have enjoyed learning about the different plants and how to care for them and stuff. I still hardly know a coleus from a cold sore, but we have fun all the same. While I am a long way from having a "green thumb," at least I can honestly say that my "black thumb" has lightened to maybe a muddy gray... or perhaps a nice shade of taupe...
